East River Shipping Ltd. (ERS) was founded in February 2006. Its fleet embraced in the beginning the motor pusher “P.Volov”, and three open top, steel floored push barges built in Burgas Shipyard. Throughout the first year of its operation ERS was mostly concentrated on the river transport of coal and metals between Ukraine and Bulgaria. In the beginning of 2007 ERS was chosen by Bulgarian Ministry of Transport as an official transporter on the ferry line between the cities of Silistra and Calarasi. A new vessel had been bought to serve on this line and after complete reconstruction “East Ferry 1” was launched in operation in November 2007.

     In July 2007 “Danube Industrial Park” JSC was registered as a sole owner of East River Shipping. At the same time in the summer of 2007 the fleet was expanded with another covered push barge.

    For the first two years of its operation the company has established a good reputation of a reliable and correct carrier. The great experience gained so far and the optimistic results achieved, are a good warranty for the future success of the company.
